Hate to give away operational secrets but..
Just because no one undocks from the station while you're sitting there doesn't mean that everybody is sitting in the station :P

Since I know everyone is curious, here's how it stacks up over the past 2 weeks in the Ratel vs. Smash/Roadkill engagement.
These numbers were taken from the Ratel killboard and although we stress that everyone post every loss, it might be a bit light on that end, you know how it goes. I included EVERY Ratel loss, not just to SMASH and Roadkill. I don't have information on our allies losses but I do know they lost a Carrier.
From 8/17 to 8/31
Ratel/Smash/Roadkill
Frigates: 11/5/1 Cruisers: 18/11/7 Battleships: 20/20/10 Destroyers: 0/1/0 Interdictors: 2/2/1 Interceptors: 3/7/5 Battlecruisers: 2/2/0 Industrials: 1/1/0 Covert Ops: 0/3/4 Heavy Assault: 1/1/0 Assault: 4/3/2 Command: 2/0/0 Recon: 0/1/0 Dreadnoughts: 0/4/0 Carriers: 1/0/0
I'm honestly not sure if the above SMASH poster believes what he said or if it was just propanda. Wars are won in the game, not on the boards though. Just want to give a little news to the obsessive board watchers like me who love hearing about all the action.
On the overall POS front:
Ratel has lost 1 large POS Smash has lost 1 large POS Roadkill has lost 1 small POS
Ratel had a medium and 2 larges put into reinforced, although at the last large the SMASH dreads were lost. All POS's were repped to full. It gave great incentive to the lazier corps to gun 'em up and make sure standings were set correctly.

Edited by: Soryn Kael on 31/08/2006 15:28:16 After comparing the losses listed on the Ratel boards and those on the Roadkill boars, the following Ratel losses were not included. (please note I don't count shuttles and our boards make podding part of the original kill, not a separate thing like yours so I didn't include that)
2 Blackbird Taranis Apocalypse Scorpion Ferox Oneiros
Not exactly a large discrepancy over 2 weeks.
Also, if you'll bother to READ what I posted I stated that one of our allies lost a carrier and that Ratel had lost a carrier, voila! 2 carriers. So perhaps you guys should check your own intelligence apparatus and then sit down and figure out if the war is going as well as you might think it is.
From all of this I've discovered the reason that Smash has a long history of ultimately losing every single engagement they become involved in. They don't bother to pay attention to reality and they believe their own press. They're impressed by the fact that a 450 man alliance and a 340 man alliance, with the hiring of a 240 man merc alliance and a 30 man merc corp haven't been evicted by a 380 man alliance.
Oh well, when in ROME, do as the Visigoths do.

Well, the honest question you should ask is who needs propaganda more, the Alliance that built an outpost and still controls it despite a month of enemy activity in the System, or the two alliance who more than double the size of that single alliance who have yet to even threaten the sovereignty of said system.

Edited by: Soryn Kael on 08/09/2006 01:45:29 During the previous 24 hours:
Ratel losses to Combined SMASH/Roadkill forces:
1 Kestrel
SMASH losses:
Armageddon Megathron Brutix Falcon Rupture Thorax
Roadkill losses:
Raven
Most of those losses occured when SMASH attempted to knock down a small POS during their peak time and got their little fleet jumped.
The Megathron deserves special mention as it is the 10th battleship lost by Drarius to Ratel forces. I heard he also lost a half dozen Megathrons trying to get back to TDE one week after he was podded.
It is getting harder and harder to find targets as most of the SMASH members are pursuing mining ops in order to conduct POS warfare since actual warfare isn't working so well. I wish them the best of luck in beating us economically :P
I didn't count the SMASH pilot who suicided their Iteron IV at the gate when I was warp scrambling and moving in to attack. Robbed me of a hauler kill

Kill totals for the week of 9-1 though 9-7
Ratel losses to smashkill/smash losses/roadkill losses
I don't have stats for FE or Wreck, but I've only included kills in which ratel alliance members were involved in.
Frigate: 13/15/1 Cruiser: 9/7/4 Battlecruiser: 0/3/0 Battleship: 13/22/12 Recon: 1/2/3 Assault: 0/2/3 Interceptor: 3/5/1 Hauler: 3/0/0 Command: 0/0/1 Covert Ops: 1/1/1 Destroyer: 1/0/0 HAC: 1/1/1 Interdictor: 0/1/1
As you can see from this week's totals SMASH and Roadkill have lost more BS's than in the previous two weeks while Ratel is more than holding their own.

I'm pretty sure they meant the first large POS that SMASH put up, not the small that got blasted.
It didn't have guns or strontium.
